How To Shop![]() Who Can shop the BME Individuals and families. Anyone is welcome to shop at the Building Materials Exchange. Low- and moderate-income individuals and families receive a significant discount on our already low prices. Just bring in proof of your income (a copy of your most recent tax return is best) and start shopping. There is a $10 yearly membership fee. To find out if you qualify, click on BME Income Guidlines. If you do not qualify for our low/ moderate income pricing, you are welcome to become a Supporting Member. Supporting members have all the same benefits as client members but pay a nominal surcharge for available items. In this way the BME is able to provide extra discounts to those households which need extra savings or materials on a grant basis.
Nonprofits Nonprofit groups may also shop at the BME. To qualify, just bring in a copy of your organization’s IRS Determination Letter. Tax-exempt organizations must also provide us with a copy of their Mission and a copy of their most recent literature. As with individuals and families, there is a $10 yearly membership fee. How to Shop the BME The BME operates much like a home supply store. Donated materials are delivered to our 14,400 square foot warehouse on Rt 196 in Lisbon, materials are arranged in the aisles and on racking. All materials are then made available to our shoppers.
